A Passionate Representative
Chaz Bowden brings a diverse background and a strong work ethic to his legal practice, shaped by years of experience both inside and outside the courtroom. Homeschooled from 4th through 12th grade, Chaz developed a disciplined and self-motivated approach to learning that laid the foundation for his academic and professional success.

After beginning his college education at Georgia Military College, Chaz transferred to Valdosta State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.
Before entering the legal field, Chaz spent several years in management with Best Buy, gaining valuable leadership experience and insight into business operations—skills that continue to benefit his clients today.

Chaz began his legal career at the Public Defender’s Office, where he gained hands-on courtroom experience and a deep understanding of the criminal justice system. While at the Public Defender’s Office, he went on to become the circuit-wide juvenile court defense attorney. In this role, he represented minors across multiple counties, handling a wide range of juvenile delinquency matters and gaining deep insight into youth advocacy and criminal law. He later joined McCranie Law Firm before becoming a partner at SHPB in August 2025.
Chaz is highly experienced in criminal defense and has received specialized training in DUI defense. Though his practice still focuses primarily on criminal defense, since joining the firm, his practice areas have expanded to include business law, personal injury, and estate planning, offering clients comprehensive legal support across a range of needs.

Chaz is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice in all trial Courts in the State as well as in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Outside of the office, Chaz enjoys golf, boating, and other water sports with his wife, and law partner, Kari Anne. They also attend Morningside Baptist Church, where Chaz sings in the Chancel Choir.
