David Parker

From the Marine Corps to Court

A partner with the firm since its founding in 1996, David A. Parker has over thirty-five years legal experience.  His career actually began as a third-year law student where he practiced as an assistant solicitor in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia.  After finishing his studies and graduating from law school at Georgia State University in 1987, Mr. Parker entered the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate where he served as trial counsel and defense counsel in court martials and administrative discharge hearings.  Mr. Parker continued his military service through Desert Storm and ended his service honorably in 1995.  Following his time in the Marine Corps, Mr. Parker began a general practice in South Georgia where he has handled numerous personal injury cases, bankruptcies, domestic matters, probate, estate planning, business and real estate matters among other types of cases throughout his career.  
Mr. Parker has served on various Boards of Directors, including for Georgia Attorneys Title Guaranty Fund, a bar-related title assuring organization operating throughout Georgia which provides title insurance through its members and approved attorneys for both residential and commercial real estate transactions.  


A large part of his practice now focuses on real estate.  Mr. Parker is experienced in both residential and commercial real estate closings and has personally closed thousands of these transactions throughout his practice.  Mr. Parker is familiar with all types of financing including FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional.  He is also approved through HUD to handle closings involving the sales of their assets. Mr. Parker is consistently a top producer of title insurance premiums in the State of Georgia for Georgia Attorneys Title Guaranty Fund.


Mr. Parker is a frequent speaker on various real estate topics and has served as legal counsel for the Valdosta Board of REALTORS® for over ten years.  He is often called upon by both Brokers and their Agents to answer real estate related questions and mediate resolutions to real estate disputes.


Having also assisted many clients throughout the years with estate planning, Mr. Parker is experienced in drafting Wills, Trusts, and other related documents.  Mr. Parker is honored to be both the County Administrator and Conservator for Lowndes County, and the County Administrator for Lanier County, Georgia, where he assists the Probate Courts in dealing with what are often very contentious and difficult cases.   


Mr. Parker is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice as counsel in the General Courts Martial of the Armed Forces of the United States, in the State Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and all other lower Courts in the State of Georgia, as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. He is a member of the American Land Title Association, General Practice and Trial Law Association, and the Real Estate Section of the State Bar of Georgia.   


Mr. Parker has been married to his wife, Joni, since 1987, and they have two children and one grandchild.
